NADH: Parkinson's disease (part 1 of 2)
. . . the previous page

Summary:
There is good news for those looking to successfully treat Parkinson's disease. Depending the advanced stages of the disease prior to treatment, more than 80% show remarkable improvements. This new Parkinson disease treatment comes from a coenzyme called NADH or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide with the ‘H’ standing for hydrogen.

Since the mid-eighties, NADH has been successfully used in Europe to treat more than 3,000 Parkinsonian patients. An overwhelming majority (about 80%) of the Parkinsonian patients experienced remarkable improvements. In the other 21.6% of the Parkinsonian patients, the disease had progressed too far. Their disability prior to treatment was too advanced. Too many brain cells had died before the NADH treatment had begun.

Ask your doctor:
We are not doctors. We found this information about NADH / Co-E1® and wanted to share it with you. You should always seek the advice of a doctor before starting any dietary supplement. We put this web site together because it seems that the Parkinson's suffer has everything to gain and nothing to lose by taking an NADH nutritional supplement. We sell NADH / Co-E1® here at the web site. Co-E1® is the same substance that was used in the clinical testing.

All the NADH / Parkinson's disease information we have is included here in this web site. As new relevant information becomes available, we will update these web pages. So don't forget to bookmark this site.

Coenzyme NADH:
NADH is a coenzyme. The American Heritage® Dictionary defines a coenzyme as:

  • a non-protein organic substance that usually contains a vitamin or mineral and combines with a specific protein, to form an active enzyme system.

Translated, this means coenzyme NADH is a nutritional supplement! NADH is as safe as a nutritional supplement. And just like nutritional supplements, it can be taken with other medications without any adverse drug interactions. If someone you know needs to take other medications, they can also take safely take NADH.

NADH won't officially be called a "B" nutritional supplement till it completes its government approval testing in late 1998. government testing takes about 11 years to complete. NADH is the first nutritional supplement to be government tested for use in medical treatments.

Our wish:
Our wish at this web site is for the people you know and care about, who are suffering from Parkinson's disease, to get this information and to take NADH. We care about Muhammad Ali. We wish he could get this information and take NADH. We wrote him a few times, but haven't receive any answers.

Definition of Parkinson’s disease
Parkinson’s disease or Parkinsonism is a degenerative brain disorder initially characterized by trembling lips and hands and muscular rigidity, later producing body tremors, a shuffling gait, and eventually possible incapacity. Emotions may be affected and mental capacity impaired, but assessment of these is difficult because depression often accompanies the disease. The disease occurs when the brain cells that produce dopamine die. In the majority of cases there is no known cause. It usually appears after age 40.

Parkinsonism usually refers to similar symptoms resulting from certain anti-psychotic drugs (taken by the mentally ill), reserpine (a blood pressure drug), carbon monoxide poisoning, or MPTP (a heroin byproduct).

Parkinson’s disease symptoms are treated with the drugs the most common drug used is sinemet, deprenyl (selegiline), L-DOPA (given with carbidopa to reduce side effects) and amantadine. Parkinson’s suffers can take tacrine and Co-E1® / NADH, testing shows no negative interactions. Parkinson’s disease is named for English surgeon James Parkinson, who first described it in 1817.

Definition of the neurotransmitter: dopamine
Dopamine is a monoamine neurotransmitter formed only in the brain by the decarboxylation of dopa. It is essential to the normal functioning of the central nervous system. A reduction in its concentration within the brain is associated with Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonism symptoms.

The finding in clinical trials:
Since the mid-eighties, NADH has been used as a medication for Parkinson's disease in more than 3,000 patients. This was in Europe, not the U.S. An overwhelming majority of patients experienced remarkable results.

In a recent, open label trial of 885 patients, NADH was used as the medication in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. About half of the patients received NADH by intravenous infusion, the other half by oral tablets. Patients that received NADH oral tablets experienced better results. You can get the same NADH oral tablet here at this web site. The NADH oral tablet is called Co-E1®.

We have included the Parkinson's disease clinical trial results in this web site. It is very difficult to read, and very technical in nature. The clinical trial study results are usually read by health care professionals. The section is for the people who want to bring the actual clinical research study to their doctor or health care professional.
